Our Purpose for Starting the Market

In 2019 we were looking for a place to sell our handcrafted items and we were blessed with a location on 203 E. Chihuahua Street in La Vernia Texas. We named our business Christian Brothers Artisan Gallery. We have several different Artisans who put their handcrafted items in the Gallery on consignment.  

Our involvement in the market came when we were looking for a way to get the word out about our Gallery. We were looking for a Market to set up at. We had visited the La Vernia Market Days in the past and purchased items. We were always impressed with the market and it was a great place to go with the family. We found out that the market was not currently running and started researching other markets in the area. After doing quite a bit of research on Market Days we then shifted our research towards us starting our own Market Day. 

After making a lot of phone calls, talking with the City Manager, and also with Chelsea Christian, who had previously run the La Vernia Market Days, we decided to get a market started at 131 Industrial Drive in La Vernia. 

The driving force for us starting a Market Day was our desire to have more funds to help those who are in need. I went to India in March 2020 and helped out at a children's home. The children truly won my heart over. They live in poverty like I have never seen before but yet they are very grateful for every little thing. We have access to land at 131 Industrial Drive in La Vernia. We had already been thinking about possibilities for using this land to bring in funding to help those who are in need. The driving force for us keeping this Market going is the Children's Home in Kakinada India and also the benevolent needs that we hope to help fulfill right here locally.

It is our hope to make this a very family-friendly Market where people can come and enjoy shopping locally. We put an emphasis on our local farmers, making this your local Farmars Market. We have a lot of talented Craftsmen and Artisan in our area and this will give them an opportunity to show off their work. Our family enjoys building and creating things and we love to see what the local Artisan in the area are creating.  This is also a place where small businesses can come and get more exposure in the community.

We want to help small business and community grow together. We hope to make this a very special Market that people will enjoy coming back to for years to come. Great things are in the works, please come and support this local Market and our goal of supporting those in need.
